Online Enrollment Begins July 29
All enrollment forms can be completed and fees paid online.
Students who finished the 2018-2019 school year with Chanute Public Schools will receive an email with directions and a code to enroll online. Parents who did not receive a code or whose email has changed should use the link below to update their address.
To enroll on July 29, parents of returning or new-to-district and kindergarten students should go to the Enroll Online Tab Button on the district’s website. Click on the link for new student OR returning student.
School offices will open Aug. 1 for parents who want to use a school computer to enroll. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, until noon on Fridays.
The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 15.
Children to teens, 1-18, eat free in June and July!
Reminder to all students: Please remember that our dress code expectations apply to all students. You must follow the rules. IF you show up to school with clothes that are not compliant with our dress code rules, we will assume you are intentionally not following them, and you will be assigned to ISS for the day.
According to the handbook: All students are to be off school grounds unless under supervision of a teacher or coach. That means, no hanging around in the commons or other areas, including outside on the school grounds. If you are done with a teacher at 3:15, please come to the office and call for a ride home. The 4:00 bus is intended for those who are staying for ESD/EADs, tutoring, etc. and are here until 3:45 or 4:00. If you are done with one teacher at 3:15, it is okay to find another one who can supervise you reading or working, but you must be sitting in a classroom if you are sticking around.
School IDs must be worn at all times. Students without IDS in the classroom or the halls, will be assigned an ESD if they are in pockets, folders, or just not on you. The price for IDs is $2.50. That will get you the ID and the sleeve. If you need a lanyard the cost will be $3.50.
Students must charge their Chromebooks at home each night. Each student and parent signed an agreement before being loaned a Chromebook. We will no longer loan out chargers during the school day. If you forget to charge it, you may plug it in at lunch in the commons area. Until then, you will need to use paper and pencil in the classroom.
