Throughout November, Royster Student Council members have been encouraging a spirit of gratitude to others. They planned short activities for each Monday that centered around being grateful and thankful. One Monday the students wrote sticky notes to favorite teachers, letting them know why they appreciated them. The sticky notes were then pasted to each teacher’s hallway doors.
For the final “thankful activity” in November, students in each Rocket Time class were asked to write what they were thankful for on a large piece of butcher paper. Students used markers to fill the sheets with comments. Among others, they expressed thankfulness for mom and dad, family “cause they love me,” Christmas music, for “life”, water, Chromebooks, gummy bears, blankets, KVC, KU basketball, softball coach, 4-H, pizza, lights, Black Friday, and “who I am today and the people in my life.”
The sheets of thankfulness are being hung on the walls of the Royster commons area.
