Several Royster students are to be congratulated for being chosen for one of three special awards for specific accomplishments over the course of the 2017-2018 year. The awards were presented at the middle school’s final assembly for the year.
Sixth grader Reese Clements, seventh grader Tyra Bogle and eighth grader Sabrena Munoz were presented with the school’s Peacemaker Award.
The Peacemaker Award is given to one student from each grade level. It recognizes a student who stands up for others, includes everyone, and performs random acts of kindness. For “doing what they can to make the world a better place,” these students are given the opportunity to select a charity to receive a $50 donation in their name.
Four eighth graders were selected for the Presidential Achievement Award. They are MaKinzie Cummings, David Hight, Trenton Kidwell and Trevor Kidwell. This award recognizes students whose strength of character has helped them overcome adversity. These students have faced a variety of struggles but managed to bounce back with a positive outlook and a great spirit.
Two students were recognized as recipients of the school’s Citizenship Award. They are eighth graders Kaidan Frederick and Emma Atherton.
